Carpenter

Our client requires a Trade Assistant at its Riverview location for ongoing work. Our client is one of Australia’s leading transportable hire and modular construction companies, who specialises in the manufacturing of modular buildings.

You will be required to work in a factory/workshop setting. As there is a lot of manual labour in these roles, the ideal candidates must be physically capable of repetitive lifting / manual handling, have experience using hand and power tools, and must have building and trades experience, particularly in areas like Cladding, Carpentry or Roofing industries

The skills we are looking for are noted below:

Cladding

Fitting of MESA (Colourbond) sheets and screwing off
Custom Orb – Horizontal & Vertical cladding
Setting out and installing battens
Fibre Cement Matrix
Fiber Cement Weatherboard
Cutting out openings & fitting
- Doors
- Windows
  - Face Fixed Windows
  - Fin Fixed Windows
- Vent Openings
Roof & Barge
- Roof blanket
- Roofing Trim
- Barge & Eve Trims
- Down Pipe & Strapping

What’s it in it for you

Pay rate will range from $33p/h + penalties
Ongoing work with potential for permanency after a qualifying period
38-hour weeks + Mon-Friday with some Saturday overtime work
Consistent hours and consistent work
Weekly Pay

The requirements:

Proven experience with hand and power tools
Building & Trades experience
Confident in using electric tools & grinders
Capable of heavy lifting and manual handling
Available for 38-hour weeks + overtime
Availability between 6:00 am – 3:00 pm Mon-Friday with occasional Saturday work
Own transport & valid driver’s license – essential
Able to pass a fully functional medical including a drug & alcohol screening prior to start
Need to provide own basic tools of tool bag, hammer etc. all power tools will be supplied
