Our client is an open-cut, strip-mining operation producing high grade manganese ore. We have been working with South32 in Northern Territory for the past 2 years.
The Problem
A particular department on site required a specific level of service and delivery, which they were not getting from the panel of blue-collar providers at the time. The issues were primarily around speed to market, based in Northern Territory they needed a ‘tap-on, tap-off’ supply of qualified FIFO and DIDO workers. They therefore, had to look at less qualified candidates, spending time and capital on training them.
Our Approach
We started with our client initially by providing shutdown labour as a limited spend vendor. From there we conducted double the monthly site visits as that of our competitors and established weekly comms, with a consistent agenda. In the background, our consultants were screening and building a pipeline of talented candidates, ready for when the client needed us, we could facilitate their ‘tap-on, tap-off’ needs.
The Solution
Embedding ourselves into the client’s needs, what they do and why they do it. Building that understanding took the working relationship from strength to strength as we became a provider of talent as well as solutions. We have utilised our regional managers fantastic personal touch to create a solid relationship, facilitating growth for our client and candidates in the territory!
